Welcome to FirstTake; a glimpse behind the scenes at First Bank of Owasso and a look into the lives of some of the finest bankers around!

Meet Dennis Phillips! Dennis began working at First Bank of Owasso in 1994 and currently serves as our Chief Lending Officer. Dennis has also been on the bank's board of directors since 2004.

What are your responsibilities at the bank? “As Chief Lending Officer, I oversee all aspects of lending at FBO. This includes development of personnel, policy, compliance, ensuring excellent service to our existing clients, and serving new lending relationships.”

Favorite part of working at FBO? “Easy - it's having the privilege of working with the best lending team around! There's so much involved in having a successful loan department, and we couldn't do it without some amazing people!”

Favorite hobbies or activities? “During this season of life, my favorite thing is watching or coaching my kids' sports teams. With three boys involved in football, baseball, and basketball, there is always a game or practice on our schedule. In addition to that, watching the OSU Cowboys, and most importantly of all, date nights with my wonderful wife, Liz.”

Favorite vacation? “Our family has begun a quest to see all of the major league baseball ballparks before our boys leave the house. This has resulted in some Griswold-esque family road trips, spanning thousands of miles. We have thirteen down with seventeen parks to go!"

Best advice you've ever received? “Jesus says in Matthew 5:16 to let our light shine before men so that they will see our good works and glorify our heavenly Father. This has long been my favorite verse and it has helped me try to live in a way that speaks positively into others' lives."
